BoomShak’s Ball Till Ya Fall Rankings
We here at Boomshakalaka have been frustrated over the years with NBA Power Ranking. Many reasons are for that, but only one reason stands out more then the rest. John Hollingers PER system. It is a great system but it has no emotion in it. Its a database of stats, and that is usually how sports writers get a base for their own Power Rankings.
The BoomShak wants to be a little different. We are fans at heart so it would be hard for us just to take some simple numbers and apply them to our model. Stats will play a part, but we have no system like PER, we run off feelings. Like if teams are showing heart, and determination. If a team is playing good team basketball, and are playing well together, and obviously winning we are going to rank them high. Its like fundamental investing versus technical, we will use some technical but very little, we are fundamental at heart.

1.
New Orleans - No trades, No big names. Best in the West, so that means in best in the association. CP3 is the best PG in the game. Great team BBall.
2.
L.A. Lakers - After dropping the Diesel powered Suns, and Kobe dropping 41 on them they solidify that they are ready for May.
3.
Boston - I want to drop them more then this, but it would not be right. They still have a stellar record and won without the Big Ticket, and that shows heart.
4.
Utah - These guys cannot be beat at home, 23-3 at home calculates the best home record in the league. They are making the playoff push, and DWill is ballin.
5.
Phoenix - Once us earthlings understand Shaq’s drive to play we will see greatness. But Amare and Nash are playing incredible. Cant wait to see more.
6.
Detriot - Second best record in the league. But I certainly dont feel they are 2nd best. I feel they dont have the drive that other teams do. Unsure of future.
7.
Denver - Melo and AI are unfadeable right now. They are playing at top form. In my opinion it will be Denver vs LAL in the West Finals.
8.
Toronto - Detroit light.
9.
Dallas - Mark Cubans viagra will ware off, and so will his hard on over JKidd. JKidd lacks passion and heart. Mavs are empty, but they are playing great ball.
10.
Orlando - The Rashard Lewis trade is looking good. Orlando just lost to the Raptors, but in my opinion are still playing better then Bosh &Co.
11.
Toronto - Playing just as good as Orlando. But the last couple of weeks they have been playing very streaky.
12.
Cleveland - Watching Lebron is just a thing of fury. The man is tied as the best player in the league with Kobe. Just wish they could get a solid 2G.
13.
Houston - 8 straight wins and are not showing any signs of letting up. Adelman and McGrady look like they have ironed out the kinks in the offensive.
14.
Golden State - Monta is playing for a big contract, but who cares he is leading them to wins. Its going to be a battle for that 8th spot, GSW is pushing hard.
15.
Sacramento - Now with Bibby gone its time for Artest to step it up, and he sure has. They are playing great. I would like to see them in the Playoffs.
16
Portland - My boys have lost 5 straight, and are looking fatigued. I hope they can start pushing again. We could use a spark right about now….ODEN
17.
Washington - Who needs Agent Zero. Tough Juice and this team are making great strides. I hope to see them in the Playoffs this year. Its the East, so….
18.
Atlanta - A young high flying team that is beating a lot of elite teams. But I think the Bibby move was a bad move. SWilliams is good, and now he is gone.
19.
Charlotte - I like where these guys are headed. They are entertaining and are in a building phase. So much fun to watch, but winning is scarce.
20.
Chicago - A lot of turmoil and rumors surround this team. It looks like they are once again not pulling the trigger on trades. So that will equal losses.
21.
Philadephia - Playing ho hum, but I am surprised they are playing this well under Cheeks. They need to move on with the coaching staff.
22.
New Jersey - Tons of talent, but .400-.500 is where they will stay. No Chemistry, no excitement. I hope DHarris can come back and add some excitement.
23.
Indiana - Does anyone care? Bright future, but this is not the year for them.
24.
Minnestora - Al Jefferson is a monster, but losses are still losses. So the toilet they go.
25.
New York - Joke fest, drama fest, pick fest. Where Zebo goes drama goes. Isiah Thomas is a ruining his good bball name.
26.
L.A. Clippers - Everyone worth talking about is hurt. So we wont expect anything from these guys until Brand is up and running.
27.
Memphis - My favorite toilet team of the year. Rudy Gay, Mike Conley, Hakim Warrick are the future of this team. In two years they will be playoff bound.
28.
Milwaukee - I do expect more, but I dont know what to think about this team. Villenueva has a bright future in the league.
29.
Seattle - The Supes will no longer be attached to Seattle after this year. Another lottery pick will help them out. Kurt Thomas is now gone as well.
30.
Miami - It can only get better, with a new duo of Marion and Wade. I only can expect things to get better, that is if they can keep both of them happy.
